But efficiently gathering the feedback, sorting it to weed out the technical from the typos—and then winnowing out the substantive issues sometimes proves to be a herculean task.

In his never-ending quest for improving processes, Martin came across Review My eLearning. It’s a brilliant piece of software that lets clients, stakeholders, SMEs and any other interested parties you care to invite review a piece of elearning slide by slide. No more wondering, “what in the dickens did he mean here?”

The system is very intuitive and easy to learn. It comes with short video demonstrations to get you up and running in a matter of minutes. It works with both Captivate and Articulate courses.

Clients can comment extensively, do screenrs of exactly what they would like to change, and categorize their comments (general, audio, graphic, text, content or function). They can even see each other’s comments, although that can potentially be more trouble than it’s worth.

As developers, we can easily view all the comments directly attached to each slide, sort them by category or reviewer, assign them and mark them in various stages of progress or completion. More important, we can see quickly what issues need further discussion.

The creators of Review My eLearning say that they want to do more than just collect feedback, they want to start a conversation. Their tool lets us get to the heart of the matter quickly.

We’re loving this new addition to our business toolbox and so far our clients are responding enthusiastically as well.

If you are a developer, have you used this tool? Any thoughts? If you’d like us to take you for a test drive, let’s talk.
